Holy Cannoli and Guacamole!

I recently purchased a cook book called, Everyday Italian, from one of my favorite chefs, Giada de Laurentiis and I couldn’t be anymore excited. To many, chefs would not be on their top list for celebrity status, but me, I’m all about the cookin’ and those who like to do it.

Her book has many Italian recipes that I plan to try out and fuse together with my style in order to make my own edible works of art.

And my favorite part of cooking: having people over to try my creations. This of course, means that, “I’m a gonna have to make a party, No?”

“Yes!”

Besides Giada (we are on 1st name basis, of course), Jamie Oliver became my all-star Chef while I was in college. I first saw him on his hit show on the Food Network called the Naked Chef and I loved every minute of it. I actually own two of Jamie’s books, The Naked Chef takes off, and Jamie's Kitchen. I even had Jamie's Kitchen signed in Chicago when he stopped by at Marshall Fields for a book signing.

I was nervous to meet him and speechless when I shook his hand. It makes me laugh how star-struck I was.
My friend and roommate in college even took a picture of my momentous occation. He's actually a big fan himself.

I can honestly say I collect cookbooks like trading cards.

This leads me to my dilemma. After coming home with Giada in hand (ha!), I realized that I have a cookbook addiction. My library is full of them, and I can’t help not purchasing them because I love them all. There are Jamie’s, Giada’s, Mexican, Japanese, Vegetarian, Soups, Desserts, drinks, and Food Encyclopedias.

Each is so special, but hear me now: I cannot purchase anymore cookbooks. Period. End of Story!

That’s what I told myself 6 months ago too and now look where I am now. :)
